Roll Out The Red Carpet!

Forget the Oscars. Just come to New Orleans if you want a serious red carpet event.

red_carpet

Kona has apparently moved to New Orleans, and after seeing the start list, I don’t know whether to toe the line or just sit back and ask for autographs. Just as far as the women are concerned, we’ve got the IM distance world record holder, an 11-time IM champion, the 3x duathlon world champion, the 70.3 world champion, multiple IM and 70.3 champions, a 4x IM world champion, and the top US female at Kona last year.  We’re talking about people who you recognize by their first name only.

Oh, and me, too.  You know, “Amy.”    hee hee hee!!!

The great news is that I am not even nervous now!  I mean,  I am such a pee-on, what do I have to be nervous about?  Of the 26 or so pro women registered, there are about 10 who could EASILY WIN in their own right.   Hey, isn’t gambling legal in New Orleans? I should redirect my talents and become a bookie for this event.  I can’t wait to see how it plays out!!!

All joking aside, it is pretty cool to just be racing in this category, even if I’m in a different universe than so many of these chicks.  A year ago I never would’ve dreamed it possible.   We will all start together (even if we finish slightly apart!  yeah– SLIGHTLY!!), and it’s an amazing opportunity to even just START with some of the legends in the sport.

I am thinking of trash-talking a little with J.Zeiger. . . and letting her know that she can draft off me in the swim if she’s nice.  ;)    Am I the only one who thinks that would be hilarious?

I double dare you to walk up to JZ and trash talk her.

Just think how cool it would be to blow away everyone and win when no one is expecting it. Just close you eyes and visualize it.

Oh and don’t forget your socks.

I’m sure you will do great, and if not, you are still awesome!
