I’ve done a complete 180 since my last post.
Can somebody please pass the Ramen Noodles?
Just kidding! The 180 part is true, though. Quick work update: I was retained, but given the option of taking a different position or choosing the separation package. I looked more closely at what the position entailed, and also learned more about the package. I decided that I was more comfortable with the “uncertainty” of finding something new than staying where I was. Pfizer was extremely generous with its separation package, and I am 100% confident that I made the right decision. I really don’t think that there are any “bad” decisions, for me at least. You make it, then you MAKE IT WORK. You know what they say about doors closing and opening. Well, I plan to PRY another one open!
The past three years were awesome, and I know I am a better salesperson as a result of working for Pfizer. I am grateful for the opportunities that I had and the wonderful people I worked with. I was trained by the best, and will take it all with me. I am REALLY excited about what the future holds. Change is exciting to me. Bring it.
Oh, and I guess that means I’m a faux pro NO MO’!! HA! At least until I start something new, right? I told Coach Matt that I’m ready to train like a real pro. His response, “SWIM MORE.” What a buzz kill, huh? He explained that your body can only absorb so much volume. That’s why HE’S the brains behind the operation, and I’m not. Anyway, I am swimming more. Six days this week! Let’s hope all this disgustingly itchy, chlorinated skin will be worth it.
COMING UP: There’s a new man in my life that I’d like to introduce next, so stay tuned. His name is Louie. He’s white-hot, super stiff, and fast as hell. And the best part? Danny fully supports my new relationship. So progressive! Photos to come…

Wow – congrats and good luck! With the job search and being a ‘real’ pro! It makes a little sense because I saw your facebook status the other day about riding 50 miles and I remember thinking, “doesn’t anyone work around here?!”
You have such a great attitude and I can’t wait to see how well you do this year.
hi Miss Amy (hehe isn’t that what kids in the South call you?)! sorry to hear about the job but at the same time, a toast to you for going “real” pro and making it happen! the new job or whatever life brings you. MAKE IT WORK! that’s what the Project Runway guy always says right?
hope to see you at some races this year. as for Louie…when I read SUPER STIFF I had to giggle like a prepubescent girl. ok, I meant post pubescent. I wouldn’t have known what the hell “stiff” meant before puberty anyhow. I was a late bloomer.
Yea for real pro-dom! Although all that swimming must suck.
I’m glad they gave you the rocking deal you deserve.. hope you can really enjoy the job-free time!
